| Oct. 31 - 1 Nov. | CHIANGMAI YEEPENG (LOY KRATHONG) FESTIVAL An experience not to be missed. The festival dates back more than 700 years and is thought to pay homage to the water Goddess for her bounty. It takes plave over two night under the full moon. People light hot air balloons, set off fireworks and send small, decorated krathongs down the rivers. A very pretty sight. There are also beauty pageants and parades. |
