Climate in Chiang Mai
As a result of the altitude and latitude in which CHiang Mai is situated, there is a wide seasonal variation in the weather.
Cool Season: November - February
The temperatures can drop dramatically at night so warm clothing is required during these months, particularly if you are travelling in the mountains.
Hot Season: February-May
As the dry season progresses, the heat increases with the haze. Storms in May can bring some welcome rain.
Wet Season: May-October
The days normally start bright and sunny but cloud over in late morning, with thunderstorms in the afternoons. Prolonged periods of rain occur when a tropical storm is passing through the area.
