Hotels

Hotels and guest houses are located throughout the city. The most convenient area to stay is between the east side of the old city (Mun Muang Rd.) and the river. This guide does not list every hotel and only a few of the many guest houses are included. For more information on this topic, go here.

Located in modern buildings that are the tallest in the city, the superior hotels offer luxurious rooms decorated in a northern style. Large closets, satellite TV and mini-bars are the norm. The bathrooms have bath and shower units, and western-style toilets. Most hotels offer grander suites with prices that are much higher than those indicated in the listing.

The main restaurants serve Thai-Chinese and Western food and many hotels have at least one other restaurant serving specialized cuisine. Live music in the lobby lounge is common, and often there is an in-house night club.

In general, downtown hotels occupy restricted spaces and do not have substantial gardens, but guests can relax in the open air at the poolside. Minibus services to the Night Bazaar and airport are provided (all hotels in this range are air-conditioned throughout).
