The Central Drakensberg (Champagne Castle area) is home to the Drakensberg Boys Choir School. This reknowned choir made up of boys between the ages of 9 and 15 has made extensive tours overseas to Europe, the USA, the Middle East and Far East. The choir received a special award at Disneyland and has sung for the Pope in the Vatican to an audience of 25,000.
While it is best known for its formal choral music, it also excels at jazz, religious, popular and folk music. The choir gives public performances every Wednesday and Saturday afternoons if they are not touring. Be sure not to miss this once in a lifetime treat if you are in the area! |
