Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park

Lake Sibaya is 18km long, averages 17km wide and up to 25m deep, is the largest body of freshwater in South Africa (77sq.kms) and is separated from the sea by forested dunes.

There are scenic trails for birdwatching (two hides), boat trips, boats for hire and fishing and two birdwatching hides. The word describes the lake well - tsibayi - 'an enclosure with no visible outlet'.There is a large hippo and croc population because of its relative isolation.

Accommodation is in the form of four two bedded and four three bedded rustic huts. There is a communal kitchen and ablution block.

The Baya Camp Trail is a 3km trail along the edge of the lake.
